Student Well-being & Support

At NSS Vijayawada, the boarding community thrives under the structure of the House System, which is centered around four residential Houses: Krishna, Godavari, Tungabhadra, and Penna. Each House serves as a microcosm of the larger school, promoting camaraderie, teamwork, and mutual respect. This system encourages friendly rivalry through inter-House competitions in academics, sports, cultural activities, and more, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among students.
The pastoral care offered within this framework is robust and deeply rooted in the ethos of NSS. Each House is managed by dedicated Housemasters, Matrons, and Wardens who closely monitor the physical, emotional, and academic well-being of the boys. Regular interactions and check-ins ensure that students feel heard and supported, creating an environment where they can thrive both personally and collectively.
A cornerstone of NSS is its zero-tolerance policy towards bullying. The school has implemented clear protocols to address and prevent such behavior. Students are strongly encouraged to report any concerns without hesitation, knowing that issues will be addressed with seriousness and confidentiality. The live-in School Counsellor and Learning Support Officer play a pivotal role in this regard, offering continuous guidance and support. This proactive approach ensures the boarding community remains a safe and nurturing space for all students.
