Dr. Y.S. Ravi Kumar is a seasoned expert in Mathematics and a teacher par excellence. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Mathematics from Magadh University, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate. Over the course of his career, he has been recognized with 12 prestigious international and national awards in the field of education.
Dr. Y.S. Ravi Kumar began his career as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) under the Kolkata region, where he served for 12 years. He later joined Indian Heritage School, Pathankot (Punjab), an ISC Board-Affiliated Senior Secondary School, where he taught Mathematics for three years. During this tenure, he took on multiple leadership roles, including House Master, Minutes Secretary, Central Dining Hall In-Charge, and Head of Department (HOD).
His journey as a Principal commenced at Lotus National School, Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh), a CBSE-Affiliated Secondary School, where he served for two years. Following this, he led the Doon Group of Schools in North India as Principal for seven consecutive years.
With over 29 years of teaching experience, Dr. Y.S. Ravi Kumar has successfully guided and inspired diverse groups of students. He is highly skilled in motivating, involving, and leading students toward academic excellence. His professional development includes participation in numerous CBSE Teacher Development and Capacity Building Programs such as Instructional Leadership, Mentoring and Motivating Teachers (2019), Master Training in Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) (2020), Master Training in Mathematics and the Remodeled Structure of Assessment (2021), and the CBSE Teachers Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (2022). He also completed the CBSE Leadership Program in Leading Transformation (2023).
Additionally, he has served as Centre Superintendent, Examiner, and Observer for CBSE Board Examinations. A self-disciplined individual with a strong set of values and a passion for education, Dr. Y.S. Ravi Kumar is a certified Resource Person by CBSE’s Centre of Excellence, authorized to conduct Teachers Training in both Senior Secondary Mathematics and the Remodeled Structure of Assessment.
